Mah Grell Chainsaw

38 inches long! Light, durable, safe to handle!
It's finally finished! Too bad not in time for Fanime, but I don't know how I'd transport it anyway.
It was my final project for the sculpture class I took this term.
Cost me many a sleepless night and tons of money but isn't it B-E-A-UTIFUL?

I get this odd urge to make love to it, but I don't know how!

The blade is sheet wood with a real, thin chain and foam paper barbs. They are soft and sturdy. Can't tell you how many times I accidentally hit them on walls and tables while I was making this, and still they look fine. The body is Styrofoam with two plates of pressed wood screwed together on the sides. The red ornamental pieces on the sides are balsa wood. I tried to keep it as light as possible. Handles are wooden too. I spent a lot of time in the wood shop and the metal shop (all those screws were inappropriate length and the threaded area wasn't right, and I had to get creative with the handle, so even some welding was involved).
